Limited spread of Slater and Devil Fires

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Firefighters are successfully limiting the spread of the Slater and Devil Fires.

The Slater Fire stands at 86% containment after burning more than 157,000 acres.

Limited fire activity has been seen on the south west area of Swan Mountain, where an infrared detection flight last night showed an additional 41 acres of fire growth.

The Devil Fire remains at 67% containment and has burned more than 8,850 acres. It is being monitored by aircraft.

Only one acre of growth has been seen for the Devil Fire in the area of Hello Lake.
