Ballot counting still underway in Humboldt County

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — It’s now 3 days after Election Day, and we’re learning more about the number of ballots that still need to be counted in Humboldt County.

According to the registrar of voters, Kelly Sanders, Friday morning there were just a little over 22,000 ballots left to process and count at the Humboldt County Elections Office. An updated report was released late Friday afternoon and included roughly 4,600 more ballots. Based on these latest numbers, roughly 54% of registered voters submitted a ballot in this election.

Moving forward, the elections office will be releasing weekly updates on Friday until the final canvass report is complete.
