16 new Covid-19 cases, 15 more recoveries reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 16 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday bringing the total case count to 621. Health officials are monitoring 36 active cases.

In the last week, 6 more cases were confirmed in northern Humboldt, 32 more cases in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 4 more in southern Humboldt.

As far as the age breakdown of cases, the biggest weekly increase has been among people in their 20’s with 13 new cases. Ten to 19 year olds and people in their 30’s followed with 6 new cases each. Five new cases were reported among people in their 40’s and 4 more for people in their 50’s. Those under 10 and people in their 60’s saw 3 more cases each. There were 2 new cases among people in their 70’s and none among people 80 years old or older.

On a more encouraging note, 15 more recoveries were reported as well, bringing that total number to 575.
