The Red Salmon Complex Fire remains at 78% containment

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Red Salmon Complex Fire remains at 78% containment and has burned nearly 145,000 acres.

Crews are working to monitor and improve existing containment lines and are using aircraft in the Shasta-Trinity zone to slow fire spread within the wilderness.

Debris removal is underway in the Hoopa Valley portion of the fire zone, which is fully contained at this time.

Crews are conducting stage one and two suppression repair efforts within the Hoopa Valley Reservation in the highly sensitive cultural resources areas. The fire burned more than 3,000 acres on the Hoopa Valley Reservation alone.
