Prescribed burning operations

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca (KIEM) – The Green Diamond Company says it will be conducting prescribed burns at different locations in Northern Humboldt County over the weekend.

Those prescribed burn operations will be conducted through Monday between McKinleyville and Big Lagoon, and between Blue Lake and Lord Ellis Summit.  Expect to see smoke and maybe flames in the area.

The company says it need to get rid of brush and weeds that could fuel a wildfire.  The operations are being carried out in cooperation with Cal Fire.
