HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)-Small business owners still have time to apply for grants up to 25-thousand-dollars, according to the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development.

The deadline to apply was Friday – however – due to an increase of completed applications the extended closing day will now be January 13th, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

The small business COVID-19 relief grant website went live December 30th to make the process easier for small business owners.

Those who need to update or upload documents to an existing application can now make those changes.

Isabella Casillas Guzman is the director and business advocate for CalOSBA.

“Small businesses review eligibility info, prepare documents and get ready to apply,” she said. “You should have time to apply and it should be a relatively easy process.

“Small businesses embody the best of the California dream and we can’t, and we won’t this pandemic take that away.”

Applications will not be accepted between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. during the website’s routine maintenance.
