HOOPA VALLEY, Calif. (KIEM)-the expense of heating a home in the wintertime can be difficult for some people.  The Hoopa Valley Tribe wants to help out.

A half cord of firewood, at no charge, is now available to hoopa tribal elders who require wood to heat their homes.

The Hoopa Valley Office Of Emergency Services asks anyone in need to call their hotline, and have the elder’s first and last name, as well as their Hoopa roll number on hand.
