Car pedestrian incident in Eureka

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Police in Eureka are looking for the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian and took off last week.

On Thursday, at about 9 in the evening, this car was seen at the intersection of Pine Street and West Hawthorne.

A 44 year old pedestrian was hit.  The driver stopped for a moment and then, left the scene- without checking on the victim.

The woman had moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police are looking for a light-colored small S.U.V.

This is the sixth car-pedestrian hit and run collision to happen in Eureka in the last year.
