Mail stolen from a USPS truck in Arcata

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – A U.S. Postal service truck was broken into and hundreds of pieces of mail have been stolen.

At about 9:45 on Wednesday on the the 1200 Block of 11th Street in Arcata.

According to police, a mail carrier was out on his rounds and when he returned to his vehicle, he saw that the truck had been broken into and two trays of mail were gone.

Officials say that the thief may have been looking for stimulus checks.
