A Long Time Community Fixture, The Kneeland Glen Farm Stand May Be Permanently Closing

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – It looks like a long time Humboldt County tradition is coming to an end.
The Kneeland Glen Farm Stand Has Been A Fixture in the Eureka area for years, but now, the land owner is shutting it down.
The North Coast Regional Land Trust recently made the decision to permanently close Eureka’s Kneeland Glen Farm Stand at the end of the month.
A decision that has left the local community and the stands owner devastated. many are rallying behind the local business and showing their support in light of the recent news.
After repeated lease violations involving public safety and numerous warnings, the North Coast Regional Land Trust unanimously chose to close the stand for good; a decision they did not take lightly.
A recent incident involving the owner’s dog, who nipped at a customer caused a rift between the current tenant of the farm stand and their lease relationship with the Freshwater Farms Reserve Property.
Owner, Kathy Mullen says she is willing to do whatever it takes to earn the trust of here community and The Freshwater Farms Reserve back.
Even with a recent outpouring of support, including a protest against the closure last week, Mullen’s may still have to close her doors for good.
