Garberville Welcomes New Local Pharmacy After Months Without One

GARBERVILLE, Calif. (KIEM)- The community welcomed a new pharmacy this afternoon after months of not having one. Customers had to make hour long commutes for their medication until now.

“A friend of mine here had to travel 80 miles round trip to get a $3 prescription.  We need to be able to offer that here locally,” said Matt Rees CEO SoHum Health.

The closure of two nearby pharmacies shocked local residents and now the new Garberville Pharmacy is ready to fill the gap.

“Not a huge population down here so that we’re able to offer a small pharmacy to be here. I just think that it’s going to be a wonderful experience for everybody who’s going to be involved,” said Cynthia Aguilar, a pharmacist.

Now that the pharmacy is in place, the next step is building a new hospital right next door.
