Food for People extends a helping hand

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)- The wildfires in northern California have forced lots of people out of their homes and many of them are having a hard time finding resources like food and shelter.

Food for People is lending a helping hand by providing emergency food resources for people affected by the wildfires or other emergencies.

They will be hosting lots of food distributions throughout the month, across the county to make sure that the group can reach as many people in need as possible.

“We’re also working with our partners in different areas to try and reach people whose transportation and avenues have been cut off and can use some food assistance,” said Development Director for Food for People, Carly Robbins. “So, we are trying to just get the word out there that if you need a little extra help, you can just reach out to Food for People and we will figure out a way to help.”
