Investigation on Officer-involved Shooting in Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. (KIEM)- The Crescent City Office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead last week. 

On August 25th, CHP officers and Del Norte County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a disabled car that was blocking the intersection between Parkway Drive and Sherwood Lane in Crescent City. At the scene, officers saw a man walking in the road with a knife. The man then went after an officer and the officer responded by firing his weapon. The man died at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
