Narcan Reverses Opioid Effects

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies sprang into action to save a Eureka man overdosing from illegal opioid use. Deputies used a nasal dose of Narcan to revive the man after he was found lying unconscious on the sidewalk in the 38-hundred block of Little Fairfield Street. The FDA says Narcan reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and can prevent death. Narcan is available to the public at no cost through the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services.
