FORTUNA, Calif.(KIEM)- In Fortuna, they couldn’t celebrate Library day the past few years due to the covid pandemic.
But tomorrow, the Friends of the Fortuna Library plan a big celebration and fundraiser.
They’re inviting everyone to the event, held at the Veterans Memorial building in Fortuna from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. Saturday.
It will include a huge sale of books, CDs and movies.
It will also feature grilled chicken dinners for take-out with advanced reservations.
Organizers tell us they are excited to be once again able to host the in-person gathering, which is their primary fundraiser for the Library.
“That we’re finally going to be selling these books. Like I say, it’s a wonderful thing for the community, and it’s not just that they can get books for, you know, a low price. It’s also because we just wanted to sell these books and, you know, get them in people’s hands rather than sitting in boxes,” said Carol Kinser, Member of the Friends of the Fortuna Library.
