Humboldt County Superior Court in desperate need of more people to serve on Civil Grand Jury

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)- Humboldt County Superior Court tonight says it’s in desperate need of more people to serve on the Civil Grand Gury.

The court telling us it’s short 25 people to serve on the Grand Jury for the next term that begins on July first. Officials are seeking applicants to fill those vacancies as quickly as possible.

The Grand Jury foreman explains what being on the grand jury entails and its importance to the community.

“The only thing I would add is that this can be tough work. It takes a commitment from the public and there’s not a great deal of things that you get. So, the thanks better come in the form of feeling. You’ve done a good job for the public,” said Jim Glover, Civil Grand Jury Foreperson.
