Arcata man arrested for human trafficking

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM)- An Arcata man previously arrested for drug trafficking has now been arrested for human trafficking.

The latest charges against 30-year-old Javier Akeem Ruiz-Keyes include multiple counts of human trafficking, pimping, and pandering.

Drug task force agents say they’ve identified multiple victims. He’s being held tonight without bail in the Humboldt County jail.

Ruiz-Keyes also has charges pending for trafficking cocaine into Humboldt County while armed.
