Organic Matters Ranch Pumpkin Patch

Are you looking for another patch to pick up your pumpkins? The Organic Matters Ranch located in Myrtle Ave, is open until the 31st of Oct.  and has about eight acres of pumpkins, seasonal squash and tons of fall fun.

Heather Plaza, the owner of Organic Matters, has been having a wonderful time this year, especially now that Covid restrictions have lifted up compared to last. The ranch has also been keeping busy with the multiple field trips that have taken place so far.

“It’s been great, we’ve had a great turnout from the community. We have hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren coming through this year,” Plaza said.

Not only does Organic Matters offer pumpkins in this patch, they also have a fair amount of edible squash and other acres of sunflowers and even a playground.

“This year we did eight acres of pumpkins and edible winter squash and specialty squash,” Plaza said. “We have a two acre sunflower maze and a quarter acre half acre playground that we’ve built for the kids.”

Locals like Jessica Beer thoroughly enjoy the season of Fall. Beer brought her son in hopes to find a perfect pumpkin to take home.

“They always have fun things to do here,” Beer said. “Also, you can just come in whenever you want […] it’s not a charge to come in, you just pay for your pumpkins, so it’s really nice just to come as often as we want in the fall.”

Once Halloween ends, Organic Matters will close down the patch; they will, however, continue to sell their edible squash to local stores around the county.
