Detective Carnahan saves infant’s life

EUREKA, Ca. KIEM- A Humboldt County Sheriff Detective is being recognized for his quick response in saving a four-week-old infant.

On April 13th, Detective Nick Carnahan and a deputy were working on a special case in Eureka.

Their assignment was immediately put on hold when they saw a call for service regarding an infant not breathing.

Carnahan was the first to enter the residence.

He began performing C.P.R. on the infant until she was able to breathe.

The baby was taken to the hospital where it was later confirmed that she had aspirated.
