Redwood Pride celebrated Pride month by hosting an all-day event including a maker’s market, a parade in Eureka and a performance show at the Synapsis.

“Just we’re here,” said Aepryl Nikolai the Director of Redwood Pride. “That’s kinda the main simple statement we’re making about this whole event, is we’re here to support the Queer community [that] is here. The Queer culture is here and not going anywhere.”

The Redwood Pride organization is a small non-profit connected to the Ink People and is dedicated to putting on annual Pride events in Humboldt County.

“For me, Pride month is every month,” said Angel Tortured a vendor at the event. “I am who I am. We really get to interact and communicate more with our own community. I’m performing at the all-ages tonight, so I think I’m excited for [the] performances.”

The evening show starts from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Synapsis where there will be drag performances and more. For more information about future events with Redwood Pride, it can be found on Facebook or Instagram @redwoodpride.
