Campground Disturbance Leads to One Arrest

Carlotta, California — On July 30, 2023 around 11:30 pm, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to Swimmer’s Delight Campground with a report of disturbance.

Once getting to the campground, deputies investigated the situation, learning that 22-year-old Alan Wayne Mills and another man got into a physical fight, in which Mills grabbed a few chairs and threw them, hitting two different women in the vicinity with these chairs. Both women were transported to the hospital and treated for moderate injuries.

Mills was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of battery with serious bodily injury, assault by force likely to produce great bodily injury, and causing injury to an elderly adult.
