IHOP NOW OPEN! This was the grand opening of the first IHOP in Eureka

IHOP is officially open for business in Eureka. For 61 years, the IHOP chain has been best known for its pancakes and a wide variety of everyday food. If the location of this IHOP seems familiar, it’s because this was the home of Denny’s for fifty years.

“I love it,” said Sharyl Oxford, an IHOP customer. “You know, we love IHOP. We didn’t have IHOP forever and so it’s really nice to have an IHOP here, I’m excited.”

Many people showed up to try the new to-us chain restaurant. IHOP is the most recent chain to open in Eureka. We’re expecting three more in 2024. They are Wingstop, an additional Starbucks drive-through and a Habit Burger Grill.

“I think that having an interest in the city of Eureka and people wanting to come here is a good sign,” said Miles Slattery, the Eureka City Manager. “And I think that any business that wants to come in to be a part of Eureka and be a part of this community is good for the city, not only from a revenue standpoint but also from a development standpoint and job standpoint.”

The IHOP in Eureka is now open for business. The IHOP lives where the old Denny’s was on Fifth Street in Eureka. They open at six every morning.

“I went in and got a sandwich, so I’m really excited about trying it out and seeing the food,” Oxford said. “Just excited to see it out here in Humboldt County finally, you know, they’re opening new things and that’s really good for the community.”
