Fatal crash in Arcata

ARCATA- A Eureka man is dead after a solo crash near the Mad River Bridge.

At 11:40 Tuesday night, the 56-year-old man was driving a Porsche westbound on State Route 299. The car went off the roadway and rolled ejecting the man 100 feet onto the parking lot of an Arcata business located on the 5300 block of Boyd Road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s not known if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash.
