A Eureka home is destroyed in an early morning fire. Just before 1 a.m, Humboldt Bay Fire crews arrived at the residence that was fully involved — and threatening Harris Street Liquors. Crews were able to control the blaze within 30 minutes, with an estimated loss of $100,000.

The fire did not cause damage to the market. That’s because a concrete wall between the residence and business prevented the fire from spreading. Humboldt Bay remained on scene until 4 this morning. A battalion chief paramedic tells us one of the biggest challenges was finding the location of the fire. No one was home at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
