St. Joseph Hospital Receives New Surgical Equipment

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – St. Joseph Hospital has received a new state of the art neurosurgical microscope, all to improve trauma care.

The new microscope is a Leica M-530. It’s designed to help neurosurgeons while operating. It’s equipped with high resolution optic technology with an increased depth of field. The hospital originally had one neuro-microscope.

Neurosurgeon Doctor John Aryanpur says, thanks to this additional microscope, it will help to expand patient care.

The Leica M-530 has already been used for several surgeries. The first surgical case that used the new state of the art equipment was spinal surgery.
