Former Eureka Chamber of Commerce Building sold to a hospitality company

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – The Eureka Chamber of Commerce recently moved to its new downtown location and now a hotel could be constructed at the former site.

This vacated building located on Broadway and West Hawthorn Street was the Chambers home for many years, but at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the council voted to sell the property to SJN Hospitality LLC for $435,000. According to councilmember Kim Bergel, the building is anticipated to be demolished and potentially turned into an 83-unit hotel. A process that could take up to 3 years.

Alcohol and Drug Care Services also sent in a proposal for the site. They proposed a 16-bed crisis unit/sobering station.
