Large turnout for Fortuna Junior Rodeo

FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM)-Children of all ages came out to Rohner Park last week for the 26th Annual Fortuna Junior Rodeo. Kids grabbed their boots and saddles to compete in this year’s event. it’s one of the largest youth rodeos in California.

Contestants came from all over the country to compete in the various events like barrel racing and pole bending that spanned over the course of two days.

The rodeo isn’t just all fun and games. It takes a lot of work and preparation to compete at this level.

“It’s a really amazing rodeo, said rodeo competitor DJ Albee.   It’s a lot of competition. This is one of the biggest junior rodeos in California, so if you’re up there competing really good and get a check or something, it’s the greatest feeling in the world.”

Event organizers are thrilled to see so many young people and their families getting involved and keeping the spirit of rodeo alive in the Friendly City.
