HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – Big fish could soon be reeling into the North Coast, thanks to a proposed aquaculture farm.
Nordic Aquarfarms went before the Board of Supervisors. The proposed project would be along the Samoa Peninsula. The main development area would be around 30 acres.
The company is reaching the end of its due diligence period and is expected to be complete next month. Nordic Aquafarms says, engineering and permitting could start later this fall depending on the due diligence outcome.
Nordic Aquafarms is expected to return to the Board of Supervisors with financing and funding programs that will help with infrastructure and water cleanup.
