FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM)-High school football is back on the North Coast. Training camps have opened with Fortuna taking to the field first with the annual Midnight Madness. It’s a fundraiser for the football program as fans showed up to Husky Field to get their first look at the team.

While veteran head coach Mike Benbow is back to lead the Huskies, the team has many holes to fill up front on both sides of the ball. Fortuna will also have a new quarterback this season. There is a two-way battle between senior Daeden Taylor and junior Max Hough.

The Huskies went 9-5 in 2018. They begin the new season August 22, at Cardinal Newman.
