Volunteer Work Day with Assembly Member Jim Wood

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Early Saturday morning, volunteers got their hands dirty at Freshwater Farms Reserve for the roll up your sleeves work day with Assembly Member Jim Wood.

The morning started off at 9 am with volunteers working on a variety of projects alongside Assembly Member Wood and the North Coast Regional Land Trust. Some of the projects included removing invasive plants to make room for native species and cleaning out an old milk parlor so it can be converted into a new multi-purpose room that people in the community can rent out.

Volunteers even got the chance to chat with wood about any local or state issues on their minds. Assembly Member Wood says he loves getting the opportunity to do these kinds of events in his district.

The day wrapped up with a picnic lunch with Assembly Member Wood for all of the volunteers that participated.
