EUREKA, CA. (KIEM)- A video surveillance system helps deputies track down missing packages.
Monday night, a deputy saw a Ring video of a man stealing a package from a Eureka residence along H Street and brought it up during the nightly briefing.
Around 3:40 Tuesday morning, officers noticed the suspects’ vehicle parked on the 200 block of Fernbridge Drive.
Deputies made contact with 38-year-old James Sweeten and located the stolen package along with another package that was stolen.
Sweeten was charged with misdemeanor theft and the packages have been returned.
