FORTUNA, Ca. (KIEM) – Sheriff recognizes four members from the CALFire Humboldt Del Norte Unit for their efforts with the Burris Fire.
Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman presented the CALFire employees with a commendation pin on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The pin is in recognition for preventing the Burris Fire from crossing Highway 20 preventing a large wildfire.
The Burris Fire started on Oct. 27 near Porter Valley Road east of Calpella in Mendocino County.
The fire burned approximately 700 acres over the course of a week.
