Butane honey oil lab discovered, dismantled in Eureka neighborhood after small fire

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — A butane honey oil lab is discovered after a small fire breaks out in a Eureka neighborhood.

Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a structure fire on the 6100 block of Humboldt Hill Road and light smoke was seen coming from an open window of the residence. When crews made entry to the home, they located a large butane honey oil lab inside.

The sheriff’s office marijuana enforcement team was called in to investigate. During a search, deputies located roughly 417 pounds of butane honey oil product, 65 pounds of cannabis bud, 1,737 pounds of cannabis shake, nine 50-gallon butane cylinders, other lab equipment, and a firearm.

A male victim sustained minor burn related injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The lab was dismantled and the butane was removed with help from eureka oxygen.

No arrests have been made at this time and the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review.
