GYMS NOT HAPPY WITH COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

COURESTY: HECTOR MENDOZA (KIEM)

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)- The California fitness alliance, also known as the CFA, filed a lawsuit against governor Newsom on Monday.

Both large and small gyms have said that closing most gyms in the state exceeds his authority under California law.

Even though most gyms in Humboldt County are open with certain restrictions, CEO of healthSPORT Susan Jansson says the restrictions are a little excessive.

“I do think that the restrictions are severe. It seems like it comes from not knowing rather than…they’re not really exploring it,” said Jansson. “They’re just figuring I got to make a call, I’m going to make this call, and you deal with it.”

Johnson adds that hopefully in the next coming weeks they can negotiate a way to lift a few more restrictions.
