Fortuna Police Department helps raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

FORTUNA, Calif. (KIEM)- Today kicks of the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month,  and members of the Fortuna Police Department are  doing their part to honor all the warriors who have fought against breast cancer.

The police department invites the local community this entire month to participate and donate to breast cancer awareness.

If you would like to get involved there are a couple options for you to choose from.

The Pink Patch Project features a ten dollar customized pink themed Fortuna Police Department patch, once all of the patches are sold the proceeds will go to the California Cancer Crushers Organization.

Residents can also take part in the Think Pink Project. This project gives you the option to stop by the police station and donate any set amount of money. Funds will then be distributed to a charity organization fighting against breast cancer

The police department would like to remind community members that there is a limited number of patches that will be available for this month
