The 55th annual rummage sale is cancelled

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- The fifty-fifth annual Humboldt Sponsors rummage sale has been cancelled this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rummage sale is the group’s biggest fundraising event of the year and it benefits different kids’ organizations and other events.

Humboldt Sponsors put up banners and signs letting people know that the rummage sale was cancelled, but there was still a bit of confusion.

“So, it’s, you know, the kids still need our help and so we’re really sad to be able… to have to cancel, but we are still supporting them in many different ways,” said Becky Giacomini, president of Humboldt Sponsors. “So, we’re hoping everybody looks for us next year and we’ll be back for sure but we wanted to make sure everybody knew it was cancelled this year.”

Giacomini says Humboldt Sponsors is planning on doing a virtual fundraising event sometime soon.
