August Complex Fire is 1,021,476 acres

HUMBOLDT, MENDOCINO, AND TRINITY COUNTIES , Ca. (KIEM) – The August Complex Fire is now 1,021,476 acres and 65% contained.

Fire fighters are working to improve containment lines and are finishing firing operations from Ruth Lake through the Gobler and Lassic Fire burn scars.

Helicopters will assist crews with bucket support and reconnaissance operations.

250 U.S. Marines are now assigned to the fire and are working to build fire lines and mop of hot spots in Beegam Creek.

Crews from PG&E will be working along Highway 36 to repair power lines over the next few days.
