Red Salmon Complex burns more than 142,000 acres

KLAMATH, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FORESTS, Ca. (KIEM) – Crews continue to battle the Red Salmon Complex Fire that has been burning for nearly 2 and a half months-since July 28th.

The fire is now 62-percent contained with more than 142,000 acres burned.

670 people are battling the flames with five dozers, six helicopters and 45 engines.

A red flag warning has been issued through Friday.

Winds from the Northeast may result in fire moving back toward previously burned areas.

Evacuation warnings remain in place for Forks of Salmon, Cecilville, and nearby residences.
