Mandatory evacuation of Happy Camp remains in effect

DEL NORTE and SISKIYOU COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) –Mandatory evacuation of Happy Camp remains in effect due to the Slater and Devil Fires.

The Slater Fire is more than 156,000 acres with 85% containment.

The north and south flanks remain in a patrol status with ongoing suppression repair and mop up efforts.

Crews are backhauling equipment that is no longer needed on the line.

The Devil Fire is more than 8,800 acres and has reached 65% containment.

It continues to be monitored by aviation resources.
