Tribal members hold Veteran’s Day Ceremony on reservation

HOOPA VALLEY, Calif. (KIEM)-Veteran Day events were held across Humboldt and Del Norte counties – including on the Hoopa Indian Reservation.

A Veterans Day ceremony to honor military veterans who contributed their life to military service, according to Executive Administrative Assistant Hoopa Valley Tribe Kimberlee Dodge.

The ceremony was held from noon to 1 p.m Tuesday, at the main hoopa tribal administration building in Hoopa, and was hosted by Chairman Byron Nelson Junior, the Hoopa American Legion Post 415 and the Willow Creek VFW Post 9561.

Local Veterans participated – social distancing, along with appropriate safety protocols were followed.
