Covid-19 outbreak at skilled nursing facility

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Health Department announced today that a skilled nursing facility in eureka has had an outbreak of Covid-19 cases.

Officials say 30 people at the Granada Rehabilitation and Wellness Center tested positive-one staff member and 29 residents.

State law requires skilled nursing facilities to carry out weekly tests on their staff, which is how the cases at Granada were discovered.

Granada did not respond to requests for comments on the matter.

They are now working with county and state health officials to monitor the health of the impacted residents.
