Vehicle investigation leads to arrest

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)– Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies have a suspect in custody in connection with a stolen truck and cargo trailer.

Early this morning deputies on patrol near Myrtle Avenue and Mitchell Road in Eureka came across a parked truck and cargo trailer.

Deputies learned that the cargo trailer was reported to be stolen out of Crescent City. Two people were asleep inside the pickup, and one of them has been identified as thirty-two year old Justin Edward Norton who currently has warrants out for his arrest.

Norton was taken into custody  and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. The second person was released at the scene.
