131 new Covid-19 cases, 194 more recoveries reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department reports 131 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday. A previous case was a duplicate. The total case count is now 2,393 with health officials monitoring 501 active cases.

In the last week, 49 more cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 190 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 32 more cases in southern Humboldt. The biggest weekly increase has been among people in their 30’s with 64 new cases reported followed by 20 year olds with 61 cases reported.

Four more hospitalizations were reported. Twelve people are currently in the hospital and four are in the ICU. The northern California region’s ICU capacity has jumped to 30.5%.

On a more encouraging note, 194 more recoveries were also reported bringing that number to 1,868.
