Hoffman clarifies updated youth sports guidance

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Public Health Department announced an update to youth sports guidance which features a major change.

The latest Humboldt Health Alert included this statement: “Beginning today, the state will allow competitions of high- and low-contact sports to resume regardless of indoor or outdoor setting if a county’s case rate is 14 or lower.”

As Humboldt County meets the requirement, this new development will give even more student-athletes a chance to return to play.
