$536 million dollar fund for California wildfires

SACRAMENTO, Ca. (KIEM) -On Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new $536 million dollar plan to improve the State’s wildfire resilience.

 The proposal will invest in forest health projects and focuses on creating defensible spaces, hardening homes against fires, grants for fire prevention, and workforce training.

The plan includes management for both public and private lands, and emphasizes community focused wildfire prevention.
