The California Highway Patrol will increase enforcement through the end of September

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The California Highway Patrol will be deploying more officers to stop crashes involving motorcycles beginning on May 31st.

Data from 2019 showed that there were 25 injury crashes and two fatal crashes in the C.H.P. Humboldt jurisdiction.

The Humboldt Area California Highway Patrol will focus their additional officers along Highway 101, State Route 36, and State Route 299.

The Office of Traffic Safety awarded the Humboldt Area California Highway Patrol with grant funding to continue the increased enforcement through September 30th.
