North Jetty boating accident investigation

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)- A fishing boat operator and a passenger are lucky to be alive today after their boat capsized near the North Jetty.

At about 2:30 yesterday, deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office were called out to the area.

According to their investigation, both were able to make it to shore. They had to be treated at a nearby Coast Guard Station for cold water exposure.

The boat was able to be recovered later.
