GAS PIPELINE UPGRADE

BLUE LAKE, Calif. (KIEM) PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) says it is now set to begin work on the second phase of installing new gas lines in the downtown Blue Lake Area. It’s part of an ongoing gas pipeline replacement and upgrade program in Humboldt County. Much of the gas system was originally installed in the 1970’s. The utility company says it will start construction in early may Northwest of G Street and Powers Creek in Blue Lake. Crews will also continue working on the first phase of the pipeline replacement Southeast of G and Powers. During that work it is possible some residents may notice a natural gas smell as the lines are changed out.
