Local hospitals celebrate National Hospital and Nursing week

This week from May 7 through May 13 is national Hospital and Nursing week and local hospitals are celebrating and honoring staff for their hard work and dedication to patients. 

Sarah Park, Director of nursing for emergency services at St. Josephs and all of Redwood Memorial Nursing shared how local hospitals are celebrating and honoring each other this year.

“The highlight of this week is the dunk tank that we are doing tonight and tomorrow where the nurses get the chance to dunk all of their bosses into the cold water,” Park said.

The area director for surgical services for Redwood Memorial hospital and St. Joseph’s hospital Jessi Burton, went on to say what this week means to her as a first year director of surgical services. 

“I’m a barbeque fan so I will say that the barbeque was my personal favorite part but I know the dunk tank is going to be pretty exciting too,” Burton said.
