Dead Body Found In Hoopa

Hoopa (California) — On Tuesday July 4, 2023, an emergency phone call was made in Hoopa about the finding of a dead body in the area of the Ferris Riffle on the Trinity River in Hoopa. The body was found about 25-feet away from the riverbank.

Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies and the county coroner responded to the scene. The body hasn’t been identified at this time.

The public is asked to help with the identity of the body at this time, which is described as a male around 5 foot 10 inches, approximately weighed 195 pounds. Tattoos are on the body, with one being grey roses on the right shoulder, the word “Yurok” on the left forearm, and a fine line around the neck area, with a diamond-shaped angel at the center of the throat.
